All forms of teleconsultation rely heavily on Information & Communication Technology (ICT).  In fact, many techniques employed in teleconsultation would not have been possible if it had not been for the tremendous advances in ICT in the recent years.

For live Teleconsultations, Telemed Providers utilizes state-of-the-art video-conferencing technology to link patients and local physicians to consulting physicians anywhere in the world.  This allows for the teleconsultation to resemble a real-life consultation as closely as possible.  Patients and their doctors are free to ask questions and the consulting physicians give their opinion instantly. Prior to the consultation, we assist patients and their doctors in preparing all the documents, laboratory results, imaging study results, etc. that may be needed by the consulting physician.  In many cases, these documents are sent to the consulting physician prior to the consultation in order to allow for the live portion of the consultation to focus on answering patient/doctor questions and address their concerns.

For medical data consultations, we use the latest technology in PACS/RIS systems and EMR systems to transfer patient information and imaging studies quickly, efficiently and securely.
